Bio

Molly Paberzs is an independent dancer, choreographer, improvisor and educator originally from Ann Arbor, MI. Molly received her B.F.A. in Modern Dance Performance and an emphasis in Choreography from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. While at UArts, she studied with Curt Haworth (David Dorfman), Brian Sanders (Momix), Jen Binford-Johnson (Martha Graham), Christine Cox/BalletX, Kim Bears-Bailey (Philadanco), Myriam Herve-Gil, Manfred Fischbeck, and Silvanna Cardell. Molly was awarded the Choreography Prize for her work at the university.

Following graduation, Molly self-produced a Philly Fringe Festival performance series. She was the recipient of the CEC New Edge Mix Artist grant and selected to present new choreography at the Mascher Dance Co-op in Philadelphia. Her work was also presented in the Philly Dance Fest and at Dance New Amsterdam in New York City.

Molly performed with Group Motion Dance Company and independent artists Nicole Bindler, Curt Haworth, and John Luna before returning home to the Midwest to pursue arts administration and advocacy. Since then, Molly has had the opportunity to work for community arts organizations such as Dance Gallery Studio, Detroit Dance Collective, Chelsea Center for the Arts, and Arts Alliance Illinois in various roles. Molly also worked as a fundraiser for the University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy.

Molly is a graduate from the University of Michigan's Master of Fine Arts program in dance, where she focused on improvisational practices with support from faculty Amy Chavasse, Clare Croft, Tzveta Kassabova, and Robin Wilson. Through her time at the University of Michigan, she worked with Meredith Monk, Kula Bantangan, Xan Burley + Alex Springer / the Median Movement, as well as university faculty.

Currently, Molly is a part-time lecturer at Eastern Michigan University and is the Program Specialist for the University of Michigan’s Center for World Performance Studies, a one-woman gig.
